We are proud to have a very experienced team of people. The quality of our staff sets us apart and makes a huge contribution to ensuring that your dog can enjoy a fun packed day in a safe and secure environment.
All our team members own dogs of their own and have a genuine passion for all things dog.
Our Team
Louise
Louise
Owner and Founder, Louise Spate, also had an equestrian career spanning decades and trained horses to the Grand Prix level in dressage. Her extensive experience with animals and focus on doing things to the highest standard carried through when she founded Active Paws in 2012. She is OFQUAL Level 3 certified in the running of a daycare and boarding establishment and proud to have achieved the Five Star, Higher Standard rating first from Chiltern District Council and then again from Buckinghamshire Council. She’s also Mummy to Doogie, a gorgeous Tibetan Terrier but has in the past also owned mixed breeds, a Collie, a King Charles Spaniel and a chihuahua cross!
David
David
David runs all our commercial operations and will be your main contact for all bookings. He will also nudge you when it’s time to provide annual vaccination certificates. He thinks that West Highland Terriers are the best dogs ever and is the proud owner of Timmy aka Hopecharm Prince Guthrie who is descended from a line of Champion Westies. He can’t understand why more people don’t own Westies!
Tania
Tania
Tania and her Romanian rescue dog Tori love nothing more than a walking holiday and have been known to put in some serious miles each day. They can also be found doing exciting things like sniffer training but this doesn’t mean that Tania has any more control over Tori when she spots a deer or a fox than the rest of us have over our dogs!
Nicky
Nicky
Nicky is the proud owner of Izzy, who is her third rescue dog and had a terrible start to life. Lots of time, patience, love and understanding have helped Izzy become a confident, loving and friendly dog with a super temperament.
Sophie
Sophie
Sophie has many years of experience in the doggy daycare world and is inseparable from her Boston Terrier, Doris (great name!). We believe Doris has a wardrobe approaching the same size as Sophie’s .. seriously, we’re not joking!
